Health Innovation and Entrepreneurship / Capstone
In today’s dynamic Information Technology (IT) environment, emerging technologies in health care represent a critical and exciting field of study. Advances in technologies across all aspects of health care promise to make dramatic impacts in terms of operational efficiency and efficacy with major implications for clinical quality and cost. This course introduces students to a number of emerging classes of health care IT. In addition, the course considers the unique challenges that the industry presents in terms of planning, implementation and adoption of new technologies.
The module explores case studies on the innovation-entrepreneurship processes used to launch and build new ventures based on IT and business informatics. It teaches the concepts of organizing for innovation, raising venture capital, managing the small technology-based venture and marketing technology.
