MPH@GW now offers an Epidemiology focus area, designed for professionals seeking to develop a deeper understanding of public health by using data to improve the way we prevent and track disease.
Graduates with a focus in epidemiology may be interested in pursuing careers in a variety of fields, including:
Social and community health
Public health data analysis

Elective Courses in Epidemiology
If you are interested in the Epidemiology focus area, you may choose from a list of elective courses, including:
Introduction to Environmental and Occupational Epidemiology (3 credits)
Global Child Health (2 credits)
Evaluation of Nutrition Program (1 credit)
Global Vaccinology (2 credits)
Epidemiologic Based Strategies for Global Infectious Disease Control (2 credits)
The Epidemiology focus area will be available to students enrolled in different program tracks at different times. Based on your program track of interest, find out which cohort you should apply to in order to be eligible for the Epidemiology focus area:
Two-, three- or four-year program track students can select the Epidemiology focus area beginning in the January 2018 Cohort.
18-month program track students can select the Epidemiology focus area beginning in the April 2018 Cohort.
12-month program track students can select the Epidemiology focus area beginning in the June 2018 Cohort.
