The MPH@GW practicum provides our students with the opportunity to learn on the ground with experts in their chosen field. During their practicums, it is important that our students are paired with preceptors who understand their need for professional development, guidance and mentorship.
The practicum is a partnership between the George Washington University Milken Institute School of Public Health, our students and sponsoring agencies and organizations. Through this mutually beneficial partnership, you will assume certain responsibilities and perform specific functions to help your student gain experience and apply concepts learned in the classroom to real-world public health settings.
Students will observe and learn from you, as a respected public health professional. As a result, each student will contribute to a community’s resources and help solve public health problems, while developing practical skills and gaining confidence in their field of choice.
