With GW Public Health Online, you will connect with GW faculty in live, virtual classes, learn from your colleagues’ diverse experiences in the health care field and network in-person with established professionals.
GW Public Health Online classes are hosted in a virtual classroom that uses live video conferencing technology to bring students and instructors face-to-face. Courses are designed and led by the same renowned faculty who teach on campus, and all students bring their unique perspectives to every discussion.
SMALL CLASSES: Approximate student-to-faculty ration of 15:1
RECORDED SESSIONS: Live classes can be rewatched 24/7
DYNAMIC FEATURES: Group work tools and live office hours
Throughout each week, you will complete faculty-designed coursework that expands on the week’s lessons and prepares you for the next live session. These assignments can be completed online or downloaded to a mobile device and completed without the need for an Internet connection.
COURSEWORK consists of expertly designed content in the form of videos, interactive quizzes and various multimedia assignments.
Each GW Public Health Online program features real-world, practical learning experiences that play a key role in helping our students develop into public health and health care leaders.
MPH@GW students complete a practicum at a placement site in their community, which is selected in partnership with their academic advisor and based on each student’s unique career goals.
MHA@GW and HealthInformatics@GW students visit the GW campus in Washington, D.C., for in-person immersion events that enable them to network with faculty and classmates and learn from industry experts and innovators in health care.
The state-of-the-art online classroom helps aspiring public health and health care leaders engage with peers from around the world. Through familiar social networking channels, social groups and highly personal interactions both in and outside of class, students can gain unique perspectives and develop lasting relationships with classmates.
"I love the range of knowledge that comes with having such a widespread population of students. Everyone from physicians to political science majors — I love the discussions we get into in class, where everyone brings a unique viewpoint!"
—Alicia Day, MPH@GW Student
