The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services seeks students whose academic abilities can successfully meet the demands of a selective, rigorous graduate program.
Applications are now being accepted for the start dates listed below. Because applications are reviewed as they are received, you are encouraged to submit your completed application as soon as possible. Admissions decisions are made on a rolling basis.
MPH@GW offers program start dates four times a year, typically in January, March, June and September. We are available to help you complete your application in time for your desired start date.

To complete your application, you must submit the following:
- Online application
- Application fee
- Statement of purpose
- Two letters of recommendation
- Official transcripts from all educational institutions attended
- Resume or CV
- GRE scores
International students may also be required to submit TOEFL or IELTS scores as well as a World Education Services (WES) evaluation of any foreign transcripts.

The application fee for the MPH@GW program is $75, and it is non-refundable.
Statement of Purpose
You are required to submit a statement of purpose with your application at the time of submission. Your statement should be 500-1,500 words and address the following questions:
- How did you become interested in public health?
- What contributions do you hope to make in the field?
- How will the MPH@GW program help you achieve your career goals?
If you feel you would like to provide the admissions committee reviewing your application a more complete picture of your academic or personal background beyond your statement of purpose, you may include an addendum with your application.
Please note that your statement of purpose should be original and in your own words. Plagiarism of your statement of purpose and objectives may be reason for non-review of your application or academic dismissal.
Letters of Recommendation
You will be required to submit two letters of recommendation. Professional or academic references are acceptable.

If you earned credits at an international institution outside of a study-abroad program, you will need to have your coursework evaluated by World Education Services (WES).
Resume or CV
In a current resume or CV, list any relevant professional and academic experience, including volunteer work, and honors and awards received.
You are required to submit your official, current GRE scores. International students may also be required to submit an English language proficiency test, such as the TOEFL or IELTS.

Remember, test scores may take up to five weeks to reach the university, so be sure to register to take any required tests as soon as you can. Scores must be sent through the testing service administering the test to be considered official.
